- Start a flight at EKCH with the aircraft of your choice
- Save the flight and tick the box saying "Make this my default flight"
- Done

You beat me to it Born.
I think the default default flight is great for marketing, but stupid for regular use of the sim.
Do not save until you have everything the way you want.
First and foremost the aircraft you want,
then VC or 2D, weather, brakes on, yep even panel condition - which lights you prefer,
and even a loaded flightplan if you want.
Then Save, and tick, check if you're North American, in the Use this as Default flight.

I don't really pay attention to the default flight...I will ALWAYS change planes and location. I like having a general default flight, it gives me a plane in a perfect situation...fully fueled, on, and in 2D panel mode (some planes will crash the sim if started in anything else...well really only eaglesoft in FS9, but still). My only gripe about the default flight is that in both sims its on the west coast, so time is always off.

Yes but by saving a flight and using it as default you save the time as well.
I use my default flight for checking cfg settings, ...it means I come back to the same place, plane and time to run the comparison.
But if not, while in the opening screen, I load one of many saved flights that put me where I want to be, or to do a tutorial or.......
