Give it time...Microsoft seems slow to release anything like this...plus as far as I know only Windows Vista supports it :-/  People can get a reasonably priced DX10 card off several sites for around $90.  Will have a 512MB DX10 card in my new system when it fires up for the first time late this month or early next month.  Will see what it does to FS8 & eventually FS9 soon enough...as for FSX...thats someone else's job :P

Strictly Vista only

Microsoft site FSInsider has some screenshots but they don't show anything spectacular.

End of the northern summer they say.  The DX10 patch is to come out with the release of the Adrenaline expansion.

Microsoft tend to be good at deadlines, but bad at leaving dozens of things to clean up after.

Yeah also DX10 Sp towards the holidays,
I was wondering,  when this is released are we going to have to do a fresh clean install of FSX again and then install SP1 again in order to install this.  Or will we have to delete just all the addons that we have and then reinstall all of them again......  :'(
I wonder how this is going to pan out.  :-/

You should only need to reinstall fsX if you've replaced the default files. I doubt some addons would work properly though. ;)

Lovely ...not.

Another uninstall, another reinstall, all the mesh to put back on, UTX USA, etc etc.

Sigh.

Yep, let's all make things up.  ::)

The facts are if it does not modify the default files it should work fine unless something has changed in the engine. Question. Why would reinstalling make a diferance if nothing modifies the defualt files?
