shift+E(+ 1,2,3,4, or 5) is the default command but for some reason it did not work on my pc so I changed it to Tab (+ 1,2,3,4, or 5). The key thing is to press the corresponding number to open the corresponding door. 1 is generally the main exit, 2 a secondary exit, 3-5 baggaged doors all though it is not the same on all aircraft...

The 'secret' to opening exits is in using the proper sequence. With the default key assignments that sequence is:

Press (Shift+E) and then release both keys. Now press the 1 key (the 1 on the keyboard, not on the Numpad). Door #1 should open. The same key sequence closes the door.... Note (Shift+E) alone will also open/close door #1.

For other doors, use the same sequence but with key 2, 3 or 4.

Example: on the default A321, (Shift+E) will open the main passanger door. (Shift+E) then 2 will open the cargo doors. (Shift+E) then 3 opens all other doors.

You can open multiple exits at once using (Shift+E) then 1,2,3,4.

Not all aircraft are created equal. Some may only have 1 or 2 doors modeled so they open. Others may use other key sequences such as wingfold or water-rudder. You'll have to check the docs that came with the aircraft, and if it uses alternate keypresses you have to make sure those are properly assigned in Settings>Controls>Buttons & Keys.

Dave

Scott, make or change key assignments in Settings>Controls>Buttons & Keys tab.
