Lost - one default King Air

For reasons unknown to me, the default King Air is no longer available on the select aircraft panel of icons.

It still lives in the SimObjects airplane folder.

How would I connect it up again?

The usually infallible cure of re-boot just didn't work.

:D    My crj 700 bit the dusty ol' trail too.  I found out that I somehow overwrote the model with another version of of the crj.  Now I'm trying to find another crj 700 to replace it.

:D   Well, I found out how to get it back.  Go to simobjects/aircraft and delete your king air.  Now put in your disk one and click repair and it will replace it.

Thanks guys.  I worked it out something along the lines you have suggested.  I went into the SimObjects/Airplanes/Beechcraft King....., opened the King Air config file in notepad, and then opened the 321 config in a separate window,  and put it beside it.   I noticed that one of the repaints for the King Air had put a number and the word Enjoy at the beginning of the first [XX] line. Once I removed these, and ensured the format was the same as the adjacent default 321 config,  and saved, the King Air reappeared.  Oh Joy, that which was lost had been found!

Good job mac. :D

Yeah The FSX aircraft.cfgs are EXTREMELY picky. even one letter in the wrong spot will mess up your whole aircraft :o

So while we are at it, I see frequent references in forums to the default Dash 8.

I have the Deluxe version, but there is no Dash 8 in the available aircraft.

But in SimObjects I find it, but the folder is named in a quite different way.  Is it a useable aircraft or just a default AI plane?

Well Microsoft had intended it to be an AI plane, like the MD-83 and the PA-180, but people have found ways to convert them into player-flyable aircraft. i'm pretty sure there's the MD-83 and Dash8 converted files on the site, go check in the FSX props and airliners section.
