Hey,
Again a - I hope simple - problem.I downloaded the tomcat by chris petersen here at simviation (seen in Tomcat Fun! Part 1&2 {dontreadmyusername} ;))...
My prob.: I added all folders from the .zip-file to the corresponding folders in MS FSX but whether the radar nor (for example) the altitude appears in cockpit-views, there are just a few black windows where the displays should be... (I made some screenshots, but don't know how to add them to a post). May someone give me a hint to solve my problem and enjoy flying that beautiful plane
?
Thx

Too learn how to add screenshots, just follow the instructions provided in the link "Upload Images" under the Simviation Logo at the top of your page.
For your aircraft problem, most likely you did not install the gauges correctly, the sim cannot find them and thus do not display them.

PS: if you want to upload a picture, make sure it has an original filename, else you could overwrite the pictures uploaded by someone else, if I'm not mistaken. I use to rename my pictures with my name, like daube_image_xx.jpg. In this way, I'm sure my filenames are different from any other files here, and I'm sure I'm not causing troubles to anybody

ok, now the pic to my problem

I don't know that/how gauges can be installed; thought it's just copy/paste the right folder from the *.zip to the equal one in FSX?!?

Ok, I can bring up the install folder. It really is an awesome plane.
Effects to C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/ Microsoft Flight Simulator X/Effects
Gauges to C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/ Microsoft Flight Simulator X/ Gauges
Just install FSUIPC, theres nothing to it 8-)
And then the Aircraft goes in C:/Program Files/ Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator X/SimObjects/Airplanes
I know you know how to install, just make sure you did all of this, and you trusted all the gauges it asked you to load.

Yes it is just a copy and paste.

It worked in FS9 so it will probably work in FSX, but I always place the guages in the panel folder of the aircraft I download. If, for some reason, you decide to get rid of the aircraft you can delete the unused gauges at the same time.

Well, some aircraft use the same add on gauges. 8-)

I'm sure I did, but as the pic shows, nothing shows up... The thing is, not only the tomcat is free from that gauges, f.e. the blackhawk (also from that site) has same probs...

I, of course, confirmed all gauges and anything else too, but it still won't work! I even downloaded and reinstalled the plane again...

I assume this is the Tomcat package posted here.
http://www.simviation.com/fsxmilitary4.htmMake sure you paste the complete contents of the Gauges folder in the zipfile to FSX\Gauges (or the F14D Tomcat\Panel folder). That's
everything in my shot below.
