.cab files?

Postby MattoUndercover » Sat Jun 23, 2007 1:52 am

Hello, I know that I am just being stupid, but a lot of the planes I am downloading are telling me to make sure that I have the cab files from the stock aircraft copied into the fsx gages folders.

When I go into any of the panel folders of the aircraft, all I see is a panel.cfg file, and .bitmap images. Am I supposed to copy all of the pictures over?

I know that this is an easy fix, but i dont want to copy and paste all of those pictures if that is not it.

Thanks

Are you sure that they're talking of the cabs in panel folder?
Because of I know some other:
the game files on the Installation disc are stored in msgame1.cab files (msgame2.cab...).

You should make sure which ones your add-on software is talking of!
If it's the installation cab files, I think you have an installation error and need to reinstall FS.

If it's the panels folder files, I don't know....

If you still have FS9 installed most of the default gauges are in the FS9\Gauges folder. They can also be found in msgame3.cab on FS9 CD - 2.
Several default gauges are not in this location but in the Panel folders of the aircraft they belong to. For example; Douglas_DC3.cab is in the Douglas_DC3\panel folder.

What they are telling you to do are go into the default aircraft folders inside FSX, and inside each of their panel folders you will find a .cab file which contains the gauges. Take these files and COPY them to the Gauge folder of FSX
