yeah, definitely the next great step in the MSFS series.

im happy with 13 FPS in the city with FSX maxed out (except ground traffic @ 23% all sliders)... heck i only got 17 fps in the city with FS9 maxed out.

better flight models
better eye candy
better aircraft

I take it you think I hate it John. Nah not really. I love it!  :D

I was just spoofing Top Gun -

"Ghostrider 114, requesting permission to buzz the tower"

"Negative Ghostrider - the pattern is full"

*BUZZES TOWER*

"Sh!t! Maverick, I spilt my coffee!"

Of course it is great, but twitchy to get really smooth. Without being unfair it is difficult to know what each of us considers acceptable, therefore what one thinks is great, someone else finds the micro-stutters irritating - some run on multi-screens with their problems and so on.   Framerates are just not the problem, it is smooth running that we all seek.  But when running well FSX is by far the best, and I've had them all. And with the hardware coming out later this year it will turn into something quite outstanding.

With the new LDS 767, the FSD Navajo, Ultimate terrain X for the USA, VFR GenX photographic scenery for the UK, UK2000 Extreme airports, and Active Graphics just to name  a few it goes from better to better.

By the end of this year with new hardware and alpha-fade in the DX10 patch (hint Phil Taylor) it should be stunning  (and we will be asking ACES not to change too much more, after bagging them for six months).

Have you seen the state of affairs with freeware files?  Why are most freeware files STILL optimised for FS9?  Why are so many people having problems with FSX?

Finally, have you any idea how many copies of FSX have been returned to the shops? ;)

I prefer people asking about the best hardware for FSX over people beeching about FSX's performance, because they expect it to run on a 3GHz P4 with 512Mb Ram and a Geforce 4MX at 1280*1024 and maximum details.

Great is a personal relative term,  IMO there is nothing great in this world, but FSX is very good... :)
Before FSX I thought FS9 was very good... :)
