WOW!

FSX including FSX Steam version.

WOW!

Postby Jakemaster » Sat Jun 09, 2007 2:30 am

I got my laptop today.  Installed FSX and I have one word:

WOW!!!!

IT IS AMAZING!  No tweeks, at the default HIGH setting for scenery (with a few changes (higher texture, mesh, and water resolution/complexity) I was flying all around Friday Harbor in the little trike with 22FPS locked.  And I mean locked, it only dropped down to 21.9 and rarely.  Wow.  On my old comp, I was getting 15 with low settings.

I think I might just become a convert!  FS2004 might not get installed on this laptop (GASP!)

Well everybody, I'm a convert again.  Default FS9.  No CFG changes, no 9.1 update.  EVERYTHING MAXED.  Flying around Seattle with Fair Weather - averaging around 40FPS.  Locked it at 28, and in downtown seattle with overcast skies I was still hitting 28 and only dropped into the low 20's when I was outside looking around.  Up in the overcast, well it got pretty bad, like the teens and even single digits looking straight out in external view.

FSX was running in the teens and barely hitting 20 earlier

I'm sticking with FS9 for now ;D

Gah, lucky you! My 1.8Ghz 512MB ram just doesn't cut it when it comes to FSX, it ran 2004 alright. I'm tempted to upgrade.

I got FSX for
