Spotting animals

Has anyone been able to see any animals on the ground. I have flown all over the Serengeti Plains but could not spot anything. My graphics and display settings are maxed out for that bit of flying.

Being from Alaska I am quite familiar with where the animals should be there but have not spotted anything there either.

I did the Africa Mission so I know they are on the computer somewhere or is that mission the only thing that has wildlife?

Yes, did that. Nothing is redundant now, will take any suggestions.

Other than birds, animals are in missions only from what I understand but I did see on person post they saw a bear in yellowstone during free flight. Could have been one too many FSX Bacardi shots too.

if its likely to be anything close to AI flight plans, then shouldnt we be able to create our own 'habitance plans' for the animals. :-?

shouldnt be too hard right? ;)

I havent seen em in freeflight either. Took a flight from Mapumalanga Airport in South Africa flying over the Kruger National Park. Its a 64 million hectares reserve and I have seen NO animals.

Not even a bird...

to see a bird, u need thermals!!! :D

not really, but there hav been reports about SP1 introducing bird which ride on thermals, which is pretty cool, but otherwise, there are no animals around except in missions... >:(  annoying :P

not true, str1ker.

If you have scenery somewhere with those cargo ships (not moving) then there are generally birds.  The carrier package for FSX has them by the cargo ships, and then also at Great Ocean no. 4

The box shows some in the Serenghetti (spelling?) but I don't know if that is mission only.

All animals (except for the birds in the thermals) are mission-only. Period.

before we go all out and say:  "YOU LIED TO US ACES!  THERE ARE ONLY ANIMALS IN MISSIONS OR ON THERMALS!!!"

lets consider this.  there is a slider for the amount of animals.  there would be no point in having that if the only ud see is the occasional bird on a thermal...

so, remember they said that animals would be following general migration patterns?  well, maybe if we find the migration patterns of some elephants in africa, then if we fly around at that time (in the sim), then we should see elephants.

someone try that, cuz i dont hav FSX yet...
