First of all, this site rocks.  I love the FS series, and I never knew there were all these addons!  This is great!  I have a few questions though...hope you guys can help me.   I am pretty cpu savy, though I am leary of changing things cause I am always afraid I am going to break things, so that is why I am asking questions.  I am sure they are answered elsewhere on the site, but I can't seem to find them.  

I have a pretty nice gaming cpu, running XP, and run FSX.

I have downloaded this, as well as the p38L that is supposed to be dled as well.  Only problem seems to be I don't have any guages.  I thought the instructions were to copy and paste the guages file into the guages folder in the MSFSX folder, and I did that, but they are still not there.  Thoughts?

I couldn't get this to work at all.  Clicked the FSUIC (sp?), said it was installed, but then what?  I probably was really tired at this point, but I didn't know where to go from there....

First one I tried...plane didn't show up in the game...it showed up in the icons and I could choose it, but when the game started, the sounds were all there, just the plane was invisible!  Thoughts?

That is good for now.  Again, I am sorry for the noob questions.  I have read the guides, and I thought I followed them, I just still have these little problems with these files.  Btw, I did get one to work, I have the Hornet in the Blue Angels setup .

1) Not all the FS204 add-on Gauges works in FSX

2)Check in this aircraft sound folder ,there must be an Sound.cfg open with notepad there must be using an Alias and using another FS2004 Old Plane model Maybe its the old Lear45 from FS2004

3)you have to download this module FSX FSUIPC 4.09 (incorporating WideFS 7). and paste it in FSX main module folder

4) Kirk Olson F-16?? I'll check this out!

Didn't think so...not really a problem anyway, since I can call up the guages i need from gps, radio stack, etc.

I thought that might be a problem as well, but I am unsure exactly what I am looking for.  I am at work right now, so I will have to check that out when I get home.  I don't think I looked at the sound.cfg now that I think about it.

in thinking about the f16, i think i don't have the original viper...need to get that...will try that tonight...in fact, i am positive that is the problem with that one.

Just to make sure ,I remember when I use the FSX TRIAL version the"Wonder Woman plane " effect was an issue of the Trial,anyway if that's the case, there's a file in FS2004 or FS9 in the main texture folder..

that won't be a problem on FSX deluxe, right?

If you are using Deluxe Don't do it, It should shows the Kirk's f-16 fine without envmap.bmp

and that is a stupid question though  :-/ does the rest of the planes like the default models looks fine to you?Sound ,graphics, etc??

the problem with the f16 is i don't have the original dled...just the repaint...it isn't the wonderwoman plane.  I will have to check on the corsair, but I don't think that is the issue since it shows up in the list, just wonderwoman's in the game...

Edit:  Yep!  That fixed it!  Now, i just have to find a C130 file, but I will do that after I load the viper....one problem down, 3 to go....

It would work but it would sound more realistic if you alias it to a turboprop. I don't have FSX but I believe it has a default Cessna C-208-B Grand Caravan or King Air, either of which which would be more suitable. Use the exact folder name of the aircraft.

You could also have a look round for a 3rd party C-130 sound pack.

good point...will change that...just wanted to make sure it worked first.

Ok, fixed the f16...sort of...got the IAF working, but I seem to have deleted the other default f16s.  I assume this is when I copied the model folder into the viper main folder.  There was model.0, model.jdam, model.gbu, and model.harm.  None of those show up on the list now that the model folder from the IAF has been added, but the IAF one is fine.  I am worried that when I get the thunderbird model, I am going to erase the IAF one too, so how do I install the new textures into this existing folder?

another update...have all working cept the 16 series...i have the basic f16s, but I can't get the IAF one to load...it is either the IAF one, or the 4 from the 16 series...I can't have em all in there...i thought I changed the Cfg file, but I am not sure what I am doing wrong now.

There is a great range of built-for FSX freeware military jets (see the download section of this site), and of course an increasing number of payware.  Adapting FS9 aircraft is a fun technical challenge, but if you want to fly, there is plenty of planes available without the grief.

yeah, but i want some of the old ones too!  I have a bunch of the new ones, but i want some older ones too!

the  corsair: the model is too old i think if its from fs 2000 or lower the model is incompatibale, i know u downloaded it from the fs2004 section but fs2004 runs the models from fs 2000 so theres your answer i also downloaded a b-52 from the 1st military page for fsx, and that didnt work eitherl.
