CTRL+J=Jetway
SHIFT+P=Pushback
SHIFT+E, 2 (hit shift and e at the same time, then release both, then hit 2)=Cargo Doors, then baggage trucks will come.
CTRL+F=Fuel Truck

you need to have the settings relativly high before you can get those functions to work,

try setting the scenery, graphics and traffic to high,

hope that helps

There is also the issue with hardware. For example: you will not be able to see moving jetways and such in FSX if your hardware doesn't support DX9, even if the settings in FSX are set to the max.

No offense meant, especially being new here. However, it is my understanding that FSX wont even function if you don't support DX9. I know DX10 hardware is optional, however DX9 to my understanding is mandatory to operate the game. I'm not sure how Direct X would affect the functionality of things either. Yes, it will affect the way they look, but does it affect their functionality? I guess it is possible they have a code to disable it if it is not run on DX10 capable hardware??? Is there a little better explanation for what you are saying perhaps?

I guess you have a while to catch up with what we already know around. I have FSX Deluxe installed on my DX8 [eight] system that is no better than an expensive doorstop, yet I am able to run it without a problem; although the graphics are now limited because I don't have DX9 hardware just yet.

But you are right when you say that DX can have some effect on functionality. I can't get the jetways to work nor the wings to flex nor the water to reflect due to the lack of DX9 hardware on my rig; however, the lack of visual options has enabled me to get better frame rates. ;)

I still have a lot of catching up and reading to do in the forums. lol I had no idea that FSX would function on DX8 though. I just know that according to Microsoft's minimums they state DX9. http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsi ... _info.html
I didn't know anyone still used DX8. :o Thanks for the info though. Always good to learn something new.

Excuse me for butting in. Installing FSX should install the current version of DX automatically. I think what Katahu means by his "DX8 system" is that some older video cards etc. do not fully support the latest DX9 features. I don't think FSX will run without DX9 installed. AFAIK DX10 has yet to be released & will only work on Vista.

Please, feel free to butt in. I am simply trying to understand all of this. Perhaps I am the one that is confused. I realise that DX10 has yet to be released. It is correct that it will only run on Vista, and that you have to have a graphics card capable of decoding DX10 to utilize it. This is where my confusion comes into play. Is that not also true of DX9. If you have a DX8 card, you shouldn't be able to run DX9 on it. Therefor, either the card and the game support DX9, or the card and the game support DX8. I do not understand how a DX8 card could run DX9. Maybe I am simply not making my confusions clear?

Katahu often confuses me. LOL ;)

Let me try to explain what I meant. I have no idea of his system specs but I suspect his video card was released long before DX9 was thought of. You can update the drivers to make older hardware DX9-compatible but it cannot support the latest DX9 features.

...nor the wings to flex...

What does flexing wings mean??
