When you put an add-on aircraft into FSX, it must be the ORIGINAL aircraft model and not just a REPAINT of the aircraft. If what you added was a REPAINT and not the ORIGINAL model, you won't see it in your "Free Flight" menu. If the (ORIGINAL MODEL) aircraft you added was made for FSX, you should see it in your "Free Flight" menu. If you added a FS2002 or FS2004 (ORIGINAL) aircraft model into your FSX, you will get a "generic", white and black aircraft "icon" with a "?" over it in your "Free Flight" menu. If that's the case, you'll have to take your own screenshot of that aircraft, use an image editor to resize the screenshot to about 256 X 128, make the resized image a jpeg file, name it "thumbnail" and then put the image into the Texture folder of the aircraft you added.
Hope all is well in your world today
