How's that grab ya! Just downloaded and installed SP1 and now cannot open FSX. I run under XP, don't know if that's got anything to do with it. NVidia video. Anybody have this problem yet?

Here's an update. I removed everything related to FSX. Did a clean install and then installed SP1. Works fine. Maybe there are issues with 3rd party software.

Check out the other post on this subject. Apperantly there are issues with third party aircraft and scenery. I was lucky as I have not added anything to FSX so far. I think what most people are doing is to remove all third party addons apply the patch then put back the addons after rebooting after applying the patch. 8-)

They do tell you its best to start with a clean FSX install, then the SP1, then the add ons. I`ve successfully put back Traffic (FSX compatible), DC 10 Package from CLS, Flying Club X and TreeX. They all work on Vista really well with FSX and SP1 too, I upgraded when my 32 bit Vista disk eventually got here, though I had tried them on 64 bit Vista too-no more changes puhleese!

Okay. Here's a new update. I run an older machine, T3410 emachine with 2 gig mem. I loaded FSX, then SP1, then 3rd party addons, including copilot and fswin. FSX would not open, all I could get was the initial window, then nothing. Now! I unloaded everything to do a clean boot of FSX and SP1. Everything worked fine until I loaded copilot and fswin. So, I uninstalled copilot and fswin and found that FSX works OK. So, I figure there is a conflict with copilot or fswin. Then, I decided to load each program and start FSX. I loaded copilot and FSX would not load. So, my conclusion is that something in copilot is in conflict with my system. Hopefully someone will find a patch that works. I really do not want to go back to re-install FSX without SP1. But, if I have to to get online I must.
