install problem

a friend of mine keeps encountering this problem when isntalling his FSX
does anyone know of a solution??

I just gone through the same problem. I contacted MS support and they guided me through troubleshooting. What you need to do is to download two folders, Article kb290301 (Windows installaer Cleanup Utility) and kb928080 (Software System Reset Tool). Both will guide you through installation. Reboot your PC and load FSX. NOTE: Make sure that your system is totally free of the previous installation before reloading. After I did the above, the installation of the FSX DeLuxe went very smoothly.
