Problem with FSX/SP1

Postby GuitarFreak » Wed May 16, 2007 2:36 pm

I just installed SP1, and I go to fly my A321 and it looks like this

I tried all of the other planes. Only ones that work are the ones I added. All of the stock ones are like that. Any ideas on how I can fix that?

This is a stab in the dark... I've been working on a plane.. while messing with the textures, I tried a format that FSX did not like (I think it was a DXT with no alpha) and something like that happened... all the animated parts got moved around.

One of your addons might have texture issues. Try removing all but the stock planes until you narrow it down..

I only have one addon because the others didn't work...missing cfg files for some reason.

Welllll.. take it out and see what happens...

As a designer, this worries me. I can see where some effect or something that might replace a default file will get stuck in there and forgotten (even after the add-on is removed) and can cause issues like this. Just a simple texture format error caused the problem for me

I think that's an MDL problem ,I just check out if fine in my pc ,and for the life ,that's the weirdest thing I ever seen :o If this problem persist I sugest you to find the a320 MDL file and descompress it from the cabs file of the disk 1

I'm sure that was a bad wrong discompressed while instalation ,this Sp1 did not mess with any of the planes, try to find the aurbus folder in one of those cabs files

No luck.

That's what the Baron 58 looks like. Only one that looks normal is the ultralight.

I know it looks like a model problem, but trust me... if you stick an incompatible texture on an animated part.. it CAN have that effect on ALL animated parts. Since this is happening to all the default planes, there's gotta be a common denominator.. and I suspect it's something from an add-on.

If you've added planes, or scenery or effects..

This is a reasonable fact ,this have a perfect sense, remember I stick under the old FS9 mdl style ,...
Jezz :o By the time I finish to understand FSX-sdk ,FSX will be eclipsed by FS11 due to such COMPLEXITY

I am not seeing anything like that here. All my aircraft are fine.

I wonder if it is a corrupt download or some texture overwrote something it should not have

Ok so if you have add-on aircraft this will happen? Because i have like over 40 add-on planes and tons of scenery changes.....

I'll hold off installing SP1 until this is solved, because i don't wanna re-install my FSX  :(

It's more likely that the problem solving will have to be done by the add-on developers and updates will be offered by them. It's not an FSX bug (so far as I can tell)..
