SP1 Release Possible Next Week....

FSX SP1 in Final Test

We have resolved all Beta bugs, including fixing 4 late graphics bugs.

We found a couple small Loc issues today, and are rebuilding tonite with an RC candidate.

The build goes into Final Test tomorrow. All thing being equal and "the creek dont rise" we will release next week.

If there is another delay I will update my blog. Stay patient, SP1 is real close!

I have my Vista 64 bit temporarily on my dual core machine (another time for this story, lol) and my tweaked FSX Deluxe.  Hopefully my long awaited 32 bit Vista Upgrade will be here next few days.  I`ll install that, activate it, put Deluxe FSX back on, then add in the SP1 as it becomes available.  Cool it on the windowsill for a few minutes, then try it out  ;)  My Standard version FSX with tweaks can stay as it is for now until I check it out on a clean install with Deluxe first.

Getting excellent results with Vista 64 bit and the tweaks so hopefully it can only get better.  I can`t lose really, even if I go back to how it is the graphics are stunning, the settings are high and the numbers are excellent.  SP1 is just the icing on the cake.......

But remember Nick's caution.  We will all get 3-4 extra fps becquswe of a re-calibrated counter, which won't make  a blind bit of difference to performance just feel better.  So it will be 4+, or best of all smoother running that will be the real measure.

What do you mean? I thought we can max out all our settings after SP1!

Whoever said you can [let alone anyone else]?

I think ZR-1 was using hard to spot irony in his post. ;)

What I posted was sarcasm aimed at shooting down the high hopes of everyone who is not getting on the bandwagon with hardware and intends to blame Microsoft if SP1 does not manufacture their fantasy flight sim on hardware that can just about run FS9, or may run it good but not have much to spare.

What I love it seeing people post "FS9 runs 60 frames on my system and cant run FSX over 5" when the fact of the matter is in order to get that they either jacked the settings down in FS9, hacked the clouds and other textures and if they did not do those 2,  they are reporting the frame rate displayed from 30,000ft 50 miles away form any major city in no heavy weather   LOL

FS9 = apples
FSX = oranges

you can not compare apples to oranges
