I see a whole lot of people talking about SP1 as a magic bullet to solve all of their problems with FSX.  Folks, don't get your hopes too high.  It will help, but it will NOT solve every problem you have.  It will not make FSX run maxed out on a 2 gig computer, and it will not make your screenies look like a photograph.  There will still be glitches and flaws in FSX, no matter how many service packs they put out.

Anticipate it, yes...  But don't expect more from it than it is.  ;)

You mean SP1 isn't going to make FSX run on my 256MB RAM computer from 2001 with on board graphics? And it won't even fix every one of my problems in the game??? That's disappointing! I was really expecting a lot more from M$, but they never get things right!

Seriously now, I agree with you Kevin. SP1 isn't a God patch. Hopefully, though, it will fix a few of the problems the game has and we'll be able to enjoy the game more.

Let's take a wait and see attitude...shall we?

I really can't wait until like 1 and a half years or 2 years from now when we'll be able to run it maxed out on DX10 graphics. Wonder what it will look like  :o

i don't think i've seen so many posts about a mere service pack.  sure, its great that one's coming out, but i don't think everyone talking about is helping.

Sorry Striker, no offence but we`re not under some secret state yet.  Everyone has the right to discuss it, you have the right not to read it-the Bloggs will have any info you want.  Now if somebody had said stop discussing tips and tricks, where would we all be now had people done that???  Its a forum, people use it as one-don`t spoil it for the rest while you have alternative choices.

I agree Kevin, too many pinning there hopes on SP1, `my computer is an old 286 and FSX hardly runs at all, hope SP1 fixes that`, `my kettle is broke, it will be fixed in SP1`, `I`ve suddenly gone blind, will SP1 address that?`.  They`re thinking of using SP1 in the software for a Mars landing, the hype has been that strong.  ;D

Seriously folks, it sounds like its going to be excellent, but lets use some common sense, it isn`t going to be the all curing penicillin some think.  They`ve worked long and hard on it, anyone who feels let down afterward should realise part of the problem was believing it would cure all in the first place.

I've had enough of the waiting- I'm starting my candlelight vigil today. Until the release of SP1, I'll have no food, sleep, beer, or flight sim. I'm going to subsist entirely on tea and forums. Anyone care to join me?

Seriously, I'm curious to see it- especially if the rumors of multiple processor support are true. But was there really this much anticipation for FSX itself?
