Hi i keep getting the blue screen when running FSX with this message when i error report

Follow these steps to solve the problem with a video device driver

You received this message because a device driver installed on your computer caused the Windows operating system to stop unexpectedly. This type of error is referred to as a "stop error." A stop error requires you to restart your computer.

i have the latest driver instaled from nvidia, its a XFX Geforece 7950GT

Anyone know a driver that is garunteed to work or anything?

thanks

Try rolling back your driver to a older version. Just because you find a newer driver than the one you currently have does not mean the driver will work for your specific card. I have seen post after post about this same issue with FS2004 and now that FSX has come out things have not changed. Nvida will relase a new driver to address a issue with a specific card and unless you have that card you do not want to use the driver. I have learned to read the readme file that usually comes with a new driver to see if it will work with my card. 8-)

Iv'e gone back to 91.47 now to see if that works as it does say it has support for my card

Horrible thing is i had my 747 take off from Athens, Greece to Rio-De J and i left it on all day (going overspeed but never mind) when i got in at 17.45 it was 500 Nm from Rio so i thought cool no errors, i changed the view to wing view n guess what, my computer restarted with device error

i dunno, computers these days

Not guaranteed but this is worth a try.....  Go into the NVidia Control Panel, change 3d settings or something similar, should be a programs tab somewhere.  Can`t be precise because I altered the registry on mine to get the overclock menus, and temporarily lost that side of things.  Putting them back on as and when I get a chance.  In there find MS Flight Sim X and set it for Multiple graphics card acceleration: Compatibility performance mode

Don`t think its that but you have to try a few things to find out.  If the machine previously had an onboard video card then ensure this is turned off in the bios.  Make sure the card is properly seated, at times they appear to be but aren`t, some have a locking mechanism.  Does it have an external power connector, is it connected?  Is your power supply adequate?  Are there any yellow exclamation marks in control panel/hardware/system?  Could any cool and quiet or similar setting in the bios be effecting it?  Is it a full NVidia driver or an NVIdia beta?  Often the betas are better than the normal drivers.  Though some are known to be problematic with certain cards or certain versions.

Do a google search and see if anyone else has had problems with that particular card/driver.  See what they did to rectify the situation.

got some NGO driver for the card, and still not much luck

its when i minimize fsx for a while withought pausing, then re-open it, it just restarts my computer, or when i start changing views, moving the hat switch etc, it just freezes and the screen goes off into power off mode
