a) Grammar.
b) FS9 aircraft can't be converted. You could try to drop their folders into the SimObjects\Airplanes folder and see if they work. If they don't work, they don't work...at least not without editing something.

Someone released a payware (?) program recently that evaluates all of you FS9 A/C to see if they can be used in FSX. The publisher and name escapes me.
Welcome to the forums.

You may also want to do a Google (yahoo, whatever) search for "moving fs9 aircraft to fsx". I found various pages, links and forums that addressed the issue with some good instructions.

No conversion is necessary. Most of the later FS9 aircraft will work in FSX. FSX does not include some of the FS9 default aircraft so you might need to re-alias Panel/Sound CFG files to a suitable FSX default for them to show up on the selection menu. (See my Aliasing article at my Lair.)
As with FS9 I suggest trying 3rd party gauges in the Panel folder of new aircraft before pasting them into FSX\Gauges. If you have FS9 paste a copy of msvcr70.dll into the FSX root directory for those incompatible gauges to work properly.

Does this mean you can make FS98 gauges work by that? :o

Blame my ageing brain, but I don't quite get this.
No more "compatibility" popups or what?

Nope not if you copy the fs9 file to the fsx folder

For some reason FSX treats the FS9 default gauges in GAU format as FS98-style gauges. msvcr70.dll will fix that. Why don't you try it & see for yourself?
