If you can`t get them on then load another plane with the engine running, swap back to the other plane using aircraft from the file menu and the engine should be running too.  Hey, its magic!

You could remap ctrl+E to to your joystick buttons in the settings/controls then just restart that way, as well as kill the engine.

The engine start code for FSX has changed since FS9. I've had to modify the panels of several
aircraft to get the engines to start correctly from a complete shutdown.

Even some of the FSX default aircraft will not start if your default flight is "cold & dark".
You have to resort to CTL+E to get them running. After that, you can shut them down
and restart them fine. I believe that sisuation has to do with fuel valves and the lack of
panel controls for changing them.

I haven't downloaded this "FSX update" of the P-3 but if it, like it's FS9 counterpart,
has all the gauges contained in CAB files then it's pretty easy to make the necessary
modifications to the starters. There are posts on various forums that address the
FSX starter problem.

I'm downloading that palne now and will have a look at it.

I just checked out the FS9 version and it uses the CONCORDE.gau for the throttles/starter
panel as well as cpt.toggles.switch!StartProp1 etc.
Can't modify the CONCORDE.GAU  but may find a suitible replacement.
