Hello to all:
Ok, I installed some AI aircrafts into FSX, However, the animations for the AI aircrafts do not have textures.

I am curious if there are textures for them or are the textures there and not FSX compatible.
Did you make the animations your self or download from some sight. If downloaded the textures are more than likely not for FSX. I think there are some programs out there that will alter textures to make them FSX ready but I could be wrong. 8-)

I have downloaded the ai aircrafts from simviation.  More questions in reguards to this:
Are there separate texture files for the animations?
Or are the animation textures included or locked into the model file?

Hi Recency. I'm not sure what you mean by animations. Do you mean the textures don't display?

Which AI aircraft are you having problems with? A link to the page the files are posted on would help.

Yes, the textures do not display. However, I found the textures but do not know where to place them.

I have installed all of the AIs' that I could find from simviation 2004 scenery downloads.

Sorry. I can't help unless you give me an example.

Typically I'm having problems downloading your [glow=yellow,2,300]Example 2[/glow] so I had to get the bigger file. [glow=yellow,2,300]Example 1[/glow] includes 12 complete aircraft. Install these to the FSX\SimObjects\airplanes folder in the usual way. I tried one example & it works fine.

I'm sure you realise that these are FS2002/4 AI Traffic packages that might not necessarily be compatible with FSX. Other files might well be different & include repaints of the FS2004 defaults. These would obviously not display in FSX unless you install the aircraft they belong with.

I'm using the FSX Demo which is perfectly adequate for checking out aircraft, textures etc. I haven't tried the included Traffic BGL file as I have no way of knowing if it's compatible with the full version. I hope this is some help.

;DProblem solved. I inserted the animation textures with the aircraft textures and bingo.
In fs2004 these texture get inserted into the scenery/world/texture folder but that does not work for the fsx.

OK, if you look at the picture to the left of example one that I stated in the obove replies, beside the plane there are vehicles such as baggage trucks in which I call animations and I think thats what everyone else calls them, not sure though. ;)
Ps. sorry about the mistake, changed the face.

And Yes thankyou for the help much appreciated.

Ah OK. I understand now. I've checked it again & can't see any separate textures in the file I downloaded.

I think you mean avatar (the image at the left below your name) & signature (image below the post). You need to upload suitable images to the site server before you can add them to your profile. Click the link at the top of the forum named Upload Images & follow the instructions. Then click the Profile button & modify it. I'm sure there's a tute posted somewhere on here explaining how that's done. If you can't figure it out I'll try to walk you through it.
