Problem loading FSX

Now that my new upgraded PC is ready to go, I have not been able to successfully load the FSX. It started loading Ok until somewhere along the line it had an error (1335) something to the effect that either my DVD-ROM is not working properly or the FSX is corrupted. I loaded CFS3 successfully so it could not have been the drive. Is my copy of the FSX corrupted already? this soon?

I meant install. This is the message I get:

Microsoft Flight Simulator X Error.
Error 1335. The cabinet file 'D1 Feat~2.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate network error, and error reading from CD-ROM or a problem with this package. Abort, Retry. Ignore.

I was using a DVD-R/RW optical drive.

How about this? I have an external hard drive I use for storage. Can I just create a folder (ex: FltSim X) in the external hard drive and then copy the existing to that folder, then from the external hard drive copy the whole game to my new PC? I remembered doing this once when I transferred FSX and FS9 to a different hard drive. I don't believe that there is anything wrong with the target drive because I successfully install CFS1 And CFS3. What do you think?

Any time you move any registered program from one drive to another you have to change the registery entries for that program as well and unless you know what you are doing [glow=yellow,2,300]I WOULD NOT MESS WITH THE REGISTERY AS YOU CAN CAUSE A LOT OF PROBLEMS IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE.[/glow]
It would be easier to just install FS to the external hard drive then copyu over any added extras. 8-)
