The software of choice is called FRAPS.
The shareware version allows you to record sequences of 30 seconds only, but as many as you want. You lanch it before the game (any game), you set a trigger key, and that's all, each time you press that key, the soft will start recording the sequence, and stores it in a default location. Very easy.

PS: in the setup of FRAPS, you can choose some options for recording, mainly:
- the resolution, full size (resolution of the game) or half size
- the sound, to include it in the videos or not.
Recording the sound has a dramatic effect on the performance. I recommend not to record it.

Exactely

The trial version gets this limitation and this banner on the videos.
The full version is unlimited, but since I don't have it, I cannot tell if there is any other interesting features.
But anyway, the trial version is already definitely worth a try.

I have the registered version of Fraps. When you pay for it, you get:
1. Unlimited Recording Time
2. No "FRAPS" banner getting in the way of your recordings.
3. You get to download the updated versions of FRAPS for free.
