Control settings storage location

When changing the values for controls (yokes, rudder pedals, etc.) in the standard MSFS-X interface (CH Yoke with CH Control Manager) where are the values stored so as to be available when MSFS-X is used again?  I had assumed in one of the .cfg files in the Program or My Documents folders, but I cannot find it.

Maybe it is stored in the registry, but I have not looked.

The reason I ask is that from time to time the settings seem to be lost or change themselves and I'd like to set them and back up the file for future use.  If it is stored in the registry is there a straightforward way to back that up?

Thanks.

Thomas

its saved with all your settings. adjust your controls and/or settings and click the save button and then give it whatever name you want. then you can change the controls again but save it as a different name and then just load whichever one you want later.

ducktape,

Are you referring to the files such as FSX-Configuration.CFG in the My Documents folder?

If so, there is nothing that changes in this file, or any file I save after making changes to the sensitivities of the controls.  When I examine this cfg files with NotePad there are no entries that refer to the control settings, including the button assignments.

The file you're looking for is Standard.xml There should be two of them.

The one you're NOT looking for is in the root FSX directory. It contains default settings for a bunch of controllers.

The one you are looking for should be in the FSX directory of your computer profile.
