FSX Crashing

Postby Will7813 » Fri Mar 16, 2007 4:42 pm

Hi alll,

I have had FSX for about 2 months now, and initially had no problems. After about 3 or 4 weeks of use, it starting crashing without warning in the middle of some flights. It doesn't happen every flight, and it can very from crashing at takeoff to landing. The computer simply restarts itself and a message appears 'The System Has Recovered From A Serious Error'. The crashing does no damage whatsoever, - no files lost or anything other than the flight i'm in the middle of. I'm running Windows XP, and as far as I can see, I have all the required running specs.

My computer specs:

Thanks

Turn off Automatic Restarts by right clicking My Computer, selecting Properties, choose the Advanced tab,  click the Settings button in Startup and Recovery, then uncheck Automatically Restart.

Next time it encounters an error it will display a blue screen instead restarting and we can use the information on the blue screen to correct your problem.  Just post what it says next time it happens.

Yeah, you'll have to hit the reset button or hold down the power switch for a few seconds since the PC will be locked up.

Hello there.
I had the exact same problem a few weeks ago (the problem persisted for months before I could detect what was the cause!)
Personally I use FS9 but Iam sure it's the same problem, regardless.

Try updating or replacing your audio device drivers.  I did that and my computer has not crashed since.

All the best!

Julian Canessa.
