Re-installation.

FSX including FSX Steam version.

Re-installation.

Postby Anxyous » Tue Mar 13, 2007 8:27 am

Hi.

I've over time noticed some lacking gauges and stuff, so unfortunately I'll have to re-install.

But last time I did it, I chose I wanted it to remember what I had, but it only kept my '200 landings' award, and all those other, along with my add-ons.

But how do I install without deleting those files? I still want all the missions I've done to be completed when I can play again... And have the awards for them.

That is easy just find the folder that they were saved in and either drag the entire folder over to a new location outside of FS or make a copy of the files in the folder then after the reinstall just move them back. You can do this with any or all of the folders [glow=yellow,2,300]BUT BE CAREFULL IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH FSX AND COPY A BAD FILE WHEN YOU MOVE THEM BACK THE PROBLEM WILL STILL BE THERE[/glow] 8-)

I don't think it's a bad file, just missing files... Thanks, but where do I find my awards? I just can't seem to...

I am afraid you got me on that one. Have you looked in the same folder your flight files are in[ which should be in your documents settings folder] :-?

That happen to me before too (re-install) but like you did it only keep my flying hours, night flying hours and IFR hours and so on... anyway I re-do all the missions myself. I was hoping it did keep all of my mission records but it didn't. I will see if I can find where the mission are save in fs folder for peoples like us... :)
