Hi, sorry if this has been already mentioned but I have tweaked my FSX too much and it looks rubbish. I am thinking of a full reinstall because there is no other way to get it back to how it was I think.

I have installed this copy of FSX twice already, can i reinstall trouble free or will I have to buy a new key.

I'm not sure... but if it doesn't accept and it says you've already exceeded your number of activations.  There is a toll-free number at Microsoft...explain the situation and they will be very friendly, very helpful and give you a new key. You won't have to buy one.

Like he said, all you need to do is call Microsoft via the toll-free number provided by the activation window. I did just that and they activated my FSX without having to pay a penny. The purpose of this phone-activation is to make sure that the installation you have is legit and not some pirated rip-off.

I had a block on mine, installed too many times.  Called them by freephone, explained I`d uninstalled and tried to install the Deluxe Version on a new machine but still had the Standard on another one.  The guy said no problem, gave me a serial number he carefully read out as I keyed it in, it was accepted and here we are now.

If you just uninstall and reinstall, on the same computer (as in not replacing a hard-drive.. or formating), you can install FSX 1,000 times..

At least that's my understanding..

Thanks, I rang them up and I reinstalled yay! I prefer it without the tweaks for some reason and it seems to run better.

always thought there might be some truth to that, which is why i never tweeked..
