I can answer your second question. Well if you want the truth for the guns, yes. But, only if you have and effect for it. It doesn't kill or cause damage but yes you can. Missiles, yes. You can attach effects, purpultion, and steering on objects other than your plane and the AI planes (In any other MSFS game you can't do that!). You can't kill or cause damage to other planes just like guns but you can fire missiles. This is a little trickier for missiles and I can't explain that. Yes all of the planes in the FSX section are unarmed. I have an ancient computer but it does fairily well on medium to low settings. I think it's fun.
Hope this helps!

As for being worth the upgrade, make sure your computer can handle it. It would suck to go out and spend themoney for your computer not to be able to use it well.

I'm not sure if your video card could handle it (thats the bad thing about dells crappy on-board vid card and no AGP slot so if you want to upgrade to a vid card probably a X1600 or better, but it would have to be a PCI card

) but if it can handle FSX then it is really worth it.
P.S. I would talk to the people at Best Buy or video game store and tell them what video card you have and they can probably tell you what you can probably get out of the sim graphic and performance wise.

from my un-educated suggest..
for my self i would upgrade to 8800GTX.. like i said its worth it!
but make sure your RAM is good too
well with this graphic card, i guarantee myself to install any high profile games will work well with this card,
and, with my target spec, i can get a word call PRICELESS!!!!!

A good video card needs a good CPU. Unless you have a Core2Duo, don't even bother thinking about getting an 8800GTX. Even then, the CPU can't supply the card by 100%.
Suggestion for your PC, Phoenix:
- More Ram (at least 2 Gigabytes)
- ATI X1600 or GF 7600.

Hey there "The Phoenix373",
I'm sorry to tell you that with your machine, you will be very disappointed if you purchase and install FSX, my machine isn't new, but much bigger than yours, and I can not run FSX on mine, I still fly the FS2004
In my opinion, there is no computer or graphic card available on the market yet, that will run FSX decently, so you can enjoy it.
But, I did buy and install FSX, only to be very disappointed, I'm glad I kept FS2004, I will not bother with FSX untill there is a machine available that can handle FSX. >:(
