I am thinking of getting a new computer and was wondering if anyone could suggest what kind of  video card,  processor,Ram, etc. I would need to run FSX with ALL the sliders maxed out and addon scenery and addon  aircraft and still be able to get around 24-30 fps.
I would appreciate any help  or suggestions.

I guess that makes me nuts then!

X6800
GeForce 8800GTX x2 (if you're running 2 or more monitors)
Wn XP with 2 GB RAM (2 of my 4 GB are doing nothing...waiting for Vista)

;D even this won't give you great fps with ALL sliders to the right

Thankyou all for your imput, I think I will wait abit from what I've read, I can't understand why Microsoft would make such a power hog program.  Maybe it would be worth while to just run FS9 for another year until prices come down and they can figure out what kinda monster machine we will have, and spend a fortune on  to make FSX work.

Personally, I think FSX is way too far ahead of it's time, the dramatic step forward is beyond what most of us can run, where's the enjoyment of running a prog like this, when you have to back everything off and still end up with no more detail than you had in FS9.

I have FSX intstalled on a second internal drive, but now I do not use it any longer, instead I have gone back to the old faithull FS9, I get more enjoyment from that.

Anyone wanna swap my FSX for a pair of socks.

::)

I must be beyond nuts then.  I'm spec'ing out my new system and I'm going for:
QX6700 (that's right, quad core)
GeForce 8800GTX or ATI R600 (once released)
4GB RAM

When I build a new system, I go big.  That's why the computer I built 4 years ago is just now starting to show it's age.   ;D
