Fuel Consumption Problem 737-800

Maybe I'm missing something, but when I fly the default 737-800, I can only squeeze out about 1200NM before I run out of gas (at FL340). The real bird is supposed to get up to 3060NM... What the heck is going on? What do I need to change to get the correct fuel consumption and distance?

www.airliners.net says that the 737-800 has a
Standard range with 162 passengers 3585km (1990nm)
add in a head wind, the extra fuel consumption during taxi, takeoff, and climb and you could very well only get 1200NM.

Plus ineffecient climb speeds plus a whole load of passengers....

I just took it up for some tesing... full fuel, default passenger load (pretty close to full, I believe)
At FL340, mach0.68, I got a zero-wind ground-speed of 400knots, burning 7,400lbs/hr
At FL340, mach0.75, I got a zero-wind ground-speed of 436knots, burning 9,000lbs/hr
At FL410, mach0.68, I got a zero-wind ground-speed of 395knots, burning 6,000lbs/hr
At FL410, mach0.75, I got a zero-wind ground-speed of 437knots, burning 6,600lbs/hr
I'm not gonna re-do the math (you'all can double check me)... With 46,063 pounds of fuel ... Allowing for the high fuel burn during climb and the low fuel burn during descent...
FL410 @ mach0.75 gives a theoretical maximum range of nearly 2,900nm... pretty darn close to real numbers for a sim..
