I just finished downloading the entire world terrain mesh. Is there a step-by-step guide on how to install these? I would appreciate any and all ideas.   :)

Erm, ain't there a readme included in the download?

If yes, go read it. It should include instructions.

If not, here's the short version:

- Drop the .bgls from the download into the FSX\Addon Scenery folder.
- Done.

;)

WoW! That quick, huh?  :o And this won't cause any problems? With all that I've been reading about FSX, I'd have thought this would be a complicated installation. Thanks!    ;D

is the world mess the FS9 one?

doesnt that have to be converted to work with FSX?

I am asking, not making any statement... I havnt really messed with terrain add-ons... still working with learning planes, aliasing, and moding the configs of the game.

I'm no expert but here's what I did step by step.

I created a temporary folder I called "FSX 10M Mesh USA9". USA9 has several files USA91-6.
Go to Addon Scenery in FSX. Click on it and you'll find the folders "scenery" and "texture".
Under "scenery" type your title. I used "USA9". Under USA9 create a subfolder named "scenery".
Copy all the USA9 files to this "scenery".

Sample path now is:  Flight Simulator FSX\ Add-on Scenery\scenery\USA9\scenery\files

Start the FSX. Go to setting. Add. Browse to the folder (USA9). OK.
Restart FSX.

My download to FSX and to FS9 before this worked however, I may be missing a step or to.

a) Bubblehead's way is the better one, so use his. Or mine. Whatever you prefer.

b) FS9 mesh is fully compatible to FSX.

c) If you downloaded the world mesh for FS9, you wasted your time. In most regions of the world, FSX features a default mesh of 76m (even better in some places), so a 76m add-on mesh wouldn't make much sense.
But it's up to you. ;)
