Add-on scenery trouble

i noticed when i first installed fsx that there was no add-on scenery folder anywhere.
then, whenever i start fsx up, it always says
SCENERY.CFG file error. local scenery directory (Addon scenery/SCENERY) in scenery Area.115 not found.

i saw some good scenery downloads, so i thought i would get them.
i just made a addon scenery folder in the fsx folder. but none of the addon scenery i have put in it work.
whats going on and how can i fix it?
any help would be greatly appreciated because i really want to fly around the new scenery

thanks

Try deleting the scenery.cfg, which is located at C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX.

FSX will then rebuild the scenery library upon the next launch.

ok, i've done that, and nothing has changed.
so i have been looking at it, changed a few bits, and now when i start up fsx it says
SCENERY.CFG file error. Invalid Remote scenery path in scenery Area.115.
but when i looked, there is nothing in the remote scenery line.
and there isn't anything for all the other areas

Hm.

Tough.

Does it look like this in your FSX.cfg?

Code: Select all
[Area.115]
Title=Addon Scenery
Local=Addon Scenery
Layer=115
Active=TRUE
Required=FALSE

Try "Local=Addon Scenery".
