If it's a default FSX aircraft it may have a "sim.CFG" file instead of an "aircraft.CFG" file.
Same file, just a different name.  FSX looks for the sim.CFG file before it looks for the
aircraft.CFG file so all of my files have been renamed to sim.CFG. Not sure if the origianl
default files were named "aircraft'" or "sim".

That's news to me.

Run FileMon and watch the FSX search patterns...especially for the "PATH NOT FOUND" entries.

Never noticed that either.

Btw: Did changing it help with frames? Or was it just cosmetical?

Well, if you don't mind the extra, unnecessary disk thrashing....

While you are at it, run FileMon and set the filter to capture events on the path "Crypto".

Start FSX and fly for more than one hour. Check the events at FSX start-up, at start-up+30 minutes
and start-up+1 hour ( and every hour from then on ). Talk about unnecessary disk thrashing, all
in the name of "validation"....

I, for one, will do what I can to optimize where M$ seems to have not...
