SLI and Crossfire compatability?

I remember that FS2004 didn't have SLI compatability (unless something changed since last time I looked). I haven't found any word on weather or not FSX is compatable with either of these technologies.

Is FSX compatable with SLI and/or Crossifre?

If so, large or minor performance gain?

Thanks!

If I remember right, it dosn't prefer one or the other, however it was coded to run optimaly on a dual core processer and dual GPU setup. So the preformance gain should be quite substancial.

FSX = No SLI support

The head developer for ACES has a blog running that explains why SLI is worthless in MSFS and even if it did work, it would not produce any better performance.

Crossfire should work fine because it does not require the game be coded for it

I havent heard anything about FS at all being specific to SLI or anything.  All I've noticed is the nVidia the way its meant to be played logo thingy.

that tells u wat brand to buy.  (besides, only nVidia hav a DX10 graphics card out)

Okay, out of the trhee responses I get this:

1. The game will run better with both SLI and Crossfire (I personally don't care which, I'm just trying to see if they work)
2. The game will not run any better with SLI
3. The game will run better on an nVidia because it has their logo on the box.

Both 1 and 2 cannot be true, only 1 or 2.

3 makes no rational sense to me, as if I payed enough money to Microsoft, they would put the Ford emblem on the box. Would that make it run better if you were in a Ford Ranger with your laptop versus in a Chevy Luv?

Okay, so it is through reasoning without any further research, that I think a Crossfire setup will infact make the game run smoother and better than a single card solution, or an SLI setup. Am I correct?

If not, please make a statement such as follows:

SLI creates [substantual/moderate/no/negative] improvement on framerates.
Crossfire creates [substantual/moderate/no/negative] improvement on framerates.
or
[Neither/Both] creates [substantual/moderate/no/negative] improvement on framerates.

Thank you! (just trying to get down to the truth, I'd prefer responses by people with specific experience with the above)

Well, i know that just about any game will run better in a dual-gpu system.  I prefer SLI (im biased towards nVidia anyway, loyalty thing).  When they put the way its meant to be played, means that MS hav coded the game to use nVidia's architecture.  This means, that it will work fastest on nVidia products due to the fact that the coding was specifically meant for nVidia.  This does not mean that ATI products wont work tho.  merely that only the default DX stuff will occur.

SLI and Crossfire will create fairly substantial improvements.  SLI would be better due to the fact that MS have coded FSX to use nVidia's architecture.

Hope this helps.
