You have to save it with a photo editor.

But it's best to get a screenshot utility program, they're free, I use Multigrab but there are others that are good, like Irfanview.  The screenshot program will cue you as to setting up a special folder which will catch your screenshots.

Look here in the Site Map for Utilities add on's, there might be some already here, or search the forums, there's been some posts about this in the past, or Google Multigrab (that's Martin Wright's, I think) or Irfanview.

If one simply strikes the PRNTSCRN key (Print Screen) the image is copied to the clipboard. Open the paint-program and simply Paste it in.

If, on the otherhand one is using a Screen-Capture program (I use the best: FSScreen.exe) the images are all stored in the default folder containing the fsscreen.exe executable file. I create a new folder every month and place the executable in there and this way I have each months' screenshots in a separate folder. Cool.

Not too many people seem to realise that FSX has its own multiple screenshot feature. http://www.flightsimulatorguide.com/fsxfaq.htm#screenshots
How can I make screenshots?
- Press the key.

Where can I find the captured screenshots?
- In FSX, go to Pilot Records -> Photos. If Windows XP is installed on your C: drive, the files are saved to C:\Documents and Settings\\My Documents\My Pictures\Flight Simulator X Files\

I believe the shots are saved in BMP format.
