Now, this is my first post and I know its been mentioned before but I cannot find the information I need anywhere, IVE SEARCHED HIGH AND LOW AND IT IS NOT TO BE FOUND! :-/

ok. I have FSX (Deluxe). I have run the setup program for the SDK and it says it is installed and the files appear to be there. Now in the FSX SDX tutorial (for mission creation for example) it says that the tool is to be found in the window bar when you press alt when flying. when I press alt the 'tools' dropdown is not there and i get no simconnect prompt at startup or anything!

its really annoying as I would like to get further into the world of FSX by creating my own missions/aircraft etc. can anybody help me or point me in the direction of some assistance?

many thanks :)

Tom

Go to your FS-X folder in application data...  (Default: C:\Documents and Settings\Felix\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX)
and open up dll.xml in a text editor, such as notepad...

for the object placement tool (and others), you'll see

 Object Placement Tool
   True

change the "True"  to "False"

 Object Placement Tool
   False

That should bring it up.

Roger that . . . open the folder structure on FSX disc#1 to find the SDK and the executable. Like yourself, I expected the world's leading software developer to have a menu item stating: Install SDK on the Main Menu (Uninstall and Repair somehow doesn't sound that descriptive).

Equally (more?) importantly, once installed, the SDK and Mission Creation software allows one to run Scenery Shortcut; thus, allowing one to add any FSX scenery objects anywhere in their FSX Virtual World. Cool. Good Luck.
