Good question.

FS has a problem with one-runway airports. If you close one end with AFCAD, FS will disobey that anyways, because it doesn't regard "half a runway" as a runway. And if there ain't a runway, FS panicks and makes half a runway one by disregarding the "closed" tag on one end.

At least that's how it's been like in FS9...and probably in FSX.

The reason for this is partly due to the AFCAD, and partly due to the weather.

You see, in real life, aircraft nearly always have to take off into the prevailing wind, and in TNCM, this happens to result in aircraft using 25 during normal operations. However, if you have a search on airliners.net or elsewhere on the net, you will see that sometimes aircraft do land on runway 25, when the wind permits.

This is the same with airports across the world. (It used to bug me with the default EGKK, and I knew from experience that runway 26L was nearly always used, but the sim used to drop me at the end of 08R...)

The solution: Change the wind, so that it is blowing from 025, you will see the difference  ;)
