how to use afterburners?

1. What type of Joystick are you using
2. What aircraft
On my Saitek X-45 all i have to do when im flying jets with afterburner capabilites i put the throttle up to 100% and the burners kick on in.

Most planes have an effect, that when you apply 100% throttle, the afterburner appears. Although nonfunctional, it's a nice touch.
SOME however, do have an afterburner built in. When you press Shift+F4, the afterburner engages, and you have a very dramatic speed increase. They're only two I can think of off the top of my head, both for FS9. The SAAB Drakken (check the latest military pages), and the Alphasim Eurofighter.

the effect has nothing to do with the joystick you have. Read the thread fully.

Posted: Thu Jan 25, 2007 9:51 pmCan't remember for sure, but it seems that one of the jets I had in fs9 had the afterburner effect as a light instead of an effect. Try turning all of your lights on.
