Sometimes I think FSX has a technical issue, Maybe the 85% of the FSs customers are too far away to purchased a Pentium D ,and maybe 40% are using celeron or Pentium 3(In all the world) Microsoft its busisness company,and I still Remember the HUDGE MISTAKEN of Windows ME a totaly failiure ,I just bought my new system and its fast for everything exept for FSX, Its not about "To Make a Game for a Minority Rich people" remember its a powerful businness company,its convinience it to sale more ..

Ok It runed with a little enough to be apresiated in my old P3 with the minimum setting with 6-10 FRPS, I had this same video card wich It help it a lot, I bought & assemble this new machine ,God it runs very fast for everything ,games ,videos,dvd etc,.. ,but exept FSX in a medium low-high 12-17FRPS I wonder why isn't enough considering that MS is a smart busisness company,there might be some technicel issue..Even Intel release a P4 with a serious issues a took out of the market,that's when AMD Athlon Took his place...Remember?

You baught your computer too early, you would need atleast to wait until june/july i think. Lets hope some good DX10 cards are out then, because i cant wait to give Crysis a good try then.

Pepper, go read the hardware forum. DX10 cards are out, and a decent amount of people are running dual cores.

That's right, especialy In USA, but what about?
India ,China,Brazil, all southamerican countries,just to mention as an example, Its easy to buy a car an pc In USA,Canada & UK

No,no Brett what I meat was ,looks like FSX has a tecnical issue(just my though),because I think MS always like to sell more copys than make a limited

I was before in 1280x1024x32 now I just set to 1024x720x16 asilotropic & antiaslating filter ,just as the Nvidia web recomended

It's a compromise. I could leave it at 1280X1024, but then I'd have to lower autogen to "normal"..

This whole dance is no different than it was when FS9 first came out. A computer like I have now would have been very expensive.. probably in the $3000 range when FS9 hit the market..  And $3000 today would buy you a computer that could run FSX quite well.. especially when Vista and DX10 are out and debugged. FSX will have an update to harness dual-core CPUs and DX10 cards.

Also, I'm not sure if I understood the main idea of your post. Correct me if I'm wrong, but basically you say that your are surprised about the small performance increase between your old and your new PC on FSX, right ? And because of that, you suspect a technical issue ? Did I understand right ?

I don't think fsX is to heavy, why?

Because it's designed to last atleast 3 years. The CURRENT Geforce 8800GTX ran Crysis, maxed out, at 70fps with a resolution of 2000x1500 when running in DX10 mode (Direct X 10 sopposidly has performance enhancements of 6-8 times DX9).

With Direct X 10 I'm sure fsX will run a whole lot better, and renember, with each generation, speed pretty much doubles. In 3 years, guess what? We'll probably have video cards and processors over twice as fast as what we have today, and by then, we'll have the SP1 patch AND the DX10 patch.

ALROT, you go a 6200 didn't you? Those aren't really an old video card, so I doubt other countries are THAT far behind. Renember, wait for the SP1 patch, I'm sure that will help performance a whole lot as Microsoft are aware of performance issues in fsX. I also heard that fsX struggles to find it's own textures, taking upto 6 times to find the correct one.

It will be fixed, however don't expect majic.

Hi Daube my new spec its down here in below my avatar Pic, Like I said ,My Old P3 had a ashtonishing performance in FSX ,getting 7-12 FRPS ,allow me to took many shots ,and have a partialy apresiation of its new fly dynamics, of couse I had to buy a new one to get a better frames, To be honest was enough to fly , I kind did like to encourage, when I saw everyone saying at the begining of its release, I exagerated a bit my performance in my old machine ,to make a people find out,what were wrong with their machines,I reads complains,Lots of them ,people having pentium D having a 512 video cards and waching many others telling them to buy more stuff,and speed with low 10-12 FRPS..Of course by that time I didn't knew yet ,how agressive ,and people were/are fustrated in this section neither that this part of the forum" FSX" was going to be so controvertial,otherwise I would keep my mouth shut

.It runned in my P3 enough to apresiate it but indeed its a whole lot more better in this new P4

Arf, I had to scroll down your signature to be able to see your config

Anyway, the fact is that your previous video card was old enough not to handle all those new DX features that the recent cards are crawling under.
That was your main advantage, because your card was discarding a lot of stuff, it needed less effort to display a scene

Now with the new config, no tricks anymore. That's why the performance "jump" is not as high a expected.
FSX has, for sure, some memory leack issues. Like for example when you get a texture properly loaded for a part of the terrain, and then that same texture is still blurry for another part of the terrain

Don't fret too much...

Do like the rest of us who also have FSX are doing, and load up your old copy of FS9, wind up all the sliders again, and enjoy all the various scenery add-ons, etc, you have built up over the past couple of years.... ...!

...and put FSX on one side for a while, until you can afford to spend loads of money on a Hardware system capable of running FSX as fast as your existing FS9...

...it's what many of us old Flight Sim users are already doing... ...!

I find I have two choices:
Run FSX at much reduced settings, and therefore suffer poor Autogen visual scenery, and very low, stuttering, frame rates....
...or...
Run FS9 flat out, with all the settings maxed, and full, excellent Autogen scenery, with all my fantastic scenery add-ons, and frame rates running at a smooth 29 FPS, locked at 30 FPS.... ...!

...guess what I am doing for quite a while......?

I still reckon the the change from FS 9 to FSX was much more drastic than the change from any of the previous versions which I have installed and run......!

Alex....load up your old FS9, and join us on Multiplayer, with the rest of the FS 2002/2004 enthusiasts... ... ...!

Sorry Bill....FSX will have to wait for quite a while yet... ...!
