Hey, thanks for looking. I am experiencing an issue with my ground textures. When the simulator first loads the textures for about 1second the textures appear sharpened look quite good but then after the textures appear to blur causing it to look horrible. Also, when the textures first load up I quickly clicked on the menu at the top before the textures blurred and it made the textures appear sharpened and i could fly around no problem with frames or anything, in fact almost better. But i dont want to go around flying with the menu blocking half of the screen.

Any help :) Thanks

sounds like you need more RAM or a better video card, whats your pcs specs?

I second that. Your system loads a precise texture but then, while loading all the other textures, gets limited in space and kills the texture quality to save some room for other textures.
What you need is either to:
- get a new video card with more memory on it (more than 256)
- tweak your FSX.cfg (read the FAQ on this section) to thune up your performance nd ease the things for your video card.

i believe thats an onboard graphics card, theres your problem, for fsx id advise a MINIMUM of a geforce 6600gt 256mb and preferably a 6800gt 256mb or faster graphics card, its also heavy on the ram so 1.5gb would be reccommended aswell

if your from the uk: www.overclockers.co.uk
if your from usa www.newegg.com

p.s. with the current exchange rate it might actually be cheaper to order from an american country even if you live in the uk ;)

pps those cards i listed above are the minimum cards i would reccommend ( a good rule of thumb is that more expensive the card is the better it is ;) (remember to get ATLEAST a 256mb card for fsx (mines a 128 but it doesnt have enough memory ;))

ppps before you buy a card you need to know if your motherboards pci express or agp, otherwise you risk buying the wrong card and not working.

final note: post this down in the hardware forum and post a link, they should give you second opinions on the matter...its surprising that its only me and one other person posting here...a few months ago EVERYONE wouldve tried to help you...
