Hi, thanks for viewing . Is it me or when I go to look for animals in free flight in zimbabwe I cant see any. When i go and then go onto the mission where you have to find that lost elephant I can see loads. I cant see any animals in free flight. Is this common or have I got something wrong with my PC.

Hi. I don't know for certain but I suspect this works just like CFS. The animals are mission objects which you can only see in the missions.

If you have the deluxe version, you can use the odject placer with a free program from Abacus called AbacusSceneryShortcut_FSX.exe (http://www.abacuspub.com/catalog/s700.htm)

im pretty sure u can see them in free flight, i havent tried my self to find them yet. Try setting autgen to dense and special effects to medium.  :-/

Then you should be able to see animals. But be aware of what aftershave you are using.

Lol. thanks, are there any particularly hotspots where i will definitely get some sightings of some animals?

Animals, like birds, were designed to be triggered by other items such as trees and bush. If you hacked your AI with a fix, you may have hacked your animals and birds out of the sim. One of the reasons NickN said to not use the texture and most of the AI fixes posted was it will remove some of the easter eggs the sim displays.

He also said the majority of the animals are in the missions and that other than birds, MS did not place a whole lot of them in the sim. Other than the missions, I have only seen a bear in Yellowstone on a low and slow flight around the park. I see birds if the time of year is right and thermals are set to natural.

Try get a free flight in a fairly fast airplane  (p51d) over middle Africa with high settings and low alt.
I see animals....

I too set him very high, John, but you're are doing great. Just hope you keep a connection with Nick so we in that way can get help also.
