Are you still excited about it?

I was just wondering how everone feels about FSX now that it has been out awhile?  I dont have it yet as I am waiting for Vista and DX10 and a new rig.  Those of you that have had it for a few months, are you still excited about playing it?  Are the new features keeping things fresh, or are you used to it like FS9?  Im just hoping it revitalizes my interest in simming again, as I am running out of things to do in FS9.  Todd

If you've already run out of ideas in FS9, you won't get far in FSX due to the lack of 100% compatible (freeware) add-ons.

I uninstalled FS9 with 300 dollars worth of add-ons and only fly FSX now.

I always knew FS9 was lacking in flight dynamics and other important areas. With FSX, flying is no longer boaring.

When you do buy it, get the deluxe version so you have all the extras even if you may not use them all.

I too plan on a complete harware upgrade but will be waiting until very late spring or early summer before I do to ensure the hardware I get not only works with DX10 but will not choke on it.

I pretty much fly only FSX now.  The only reason I fly FSX is to fly in formation with my recorder flights.  Everything else is FSX, and I am still very excited about what can be done with it.

Thanks for the replies, it sounds like the new improvements are enough to keep the interest up.  I was afraid to put all the time and money into it and then realize 6 months later that I was bored.  I was really hoping for an improved ATC with holding patterns and such, but not to be.  Ive just grown tired of routine flights, Im always looking  for bad weather, difficult approaches, and excellent flight dynamics.  Thanks again for the input.  Todd

I like it, and each time I use it I can generally tweak the settings a little more, along with cleaning up the Sim PC.

I made the mistake of not getting deluxe and I still like FSX better than FS9  ;)

I think what is important, is that just like every other version of MSFS before it, is that it has a lot of potential. Hopefully in a year or so's time, with an upgraded/new PC, it'll be just what one wants. :)

Well, as far as the cash, dont have any extra anyway. :'(  I have most of Dogherty's stuff, yes very good I agree.  Im not sure why I am getting bored with it.  I just got rudder pedals that are great, I think Im just burnt out right now.  Ive flown so many planes in so many countries in all types of weather, that Im just not excited about it right now.  I havent had the chance to continue working towards getting my private pilots license, which would help motivate me.  Maybe Ill win the the lottery and buy a full motion sim, that would do it. ;)  When the time is right and I get my new rig, hopefully FSX will cure my flying blues.  Todd

I purchased FSX the day it was released, as I did for all my other versions, installed it, tried it out a few times with the various tweaks published here, found it nowhere matched the beautiful scenery, smoothness, etc, with all the settings maxed in my FS 2004... 8-)...!

FSX is still on my hard drive, and I give it a try now and again, not very often, (for two about minutes), and then fire up my trusty FS 2004 for a days highly enjoyable flying around sunny California admiring all the full-blown, dense, colourful scenery below me... [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]...!!

I'll give FSX a longer try when my new Cray Super-Computer arrives.... ;)...!
...until then I am still a dedicated FS 2004 enthusiast... ;)...!

...and FSX is still sulking on my hard drive!

Do you remember, the swap from FS 2002 to FS 2004 was nowhere as drastic, hardware-wise, as the swap from FS 2004 to....FSX... :o...!

Listen I'm still exited by FS9 ,Imagine FSX ,not only exited by this one, I'm very Impress too..as an entusiasm of aeronautical & aviation thing ,I consider this FSs beyond a a simple game, you could get bore af counter strike, bay city, etc , but never stop flying in MFS

I have both instaled 9&10

Dense??? Colourful???

If I had your drugs, I could admire the "dense" and "colourful" scenery, too... ;P
