Just wait for an add-on developer to make one complete with effects on the aircraft...The Aerosoft AES does so much...the jetways actually do line up with the aircraft and not with one, but all aircraft compatible with FS9...It adds a follow me car, pushback tracks that actually signal you to start engines and such...Very cool...Now, come FSX, the add-on developers have so much more to put their creative minds into ;)

Sometimes...

Aren't bird strikes, if the bird ain't the size of a Condor generally uncritical for the engines?

Yes, for the most part a bird (even large ones) injested into a modern turbofan will not cause any damage. In fact prior to certification 'dead' chickens and turkeys are launched into the intake of running engines to ensure no damage is done. Chunks of ice are also used to test the engines. They are very robust pieces of engineering.
