I've tried installing the F-16 and F-15 updates for FSX. Models show fine in the sim but dont show in the sircraft preview, actaully no add-ons show in aircraft preview. Next, when i load the f-16 it comes up with a bunch of gauge errors saying that they're made for '98 or earlier and mont work, so they wont load. Another gauge error is that in VC in any addon aircraft no guages are displayed but they show fine in the 2d cockpit (If they use the same gauges that is). Are these just problems with running a 9 plane in X or is there a fix??

I think your first problem might be a display setting or video card issue on your system.

Some of these "FSX updates" I've tried don't include all the 3rd party gauges for the DVC. The updates seem to be for the 2D panel only. I suspect that explains this problem.

Only the addon aircraft wont display, all others will. I was thinking more along the lines of a compatibility error.

That's what I was thinking, thanks for the confirmation. If I installed a VC cockpit from FS9 for these aircraft (like pulling a model/texture/panel folder combo) could it work?

It could possibly be the texture format on your system/display settings but all addon aircraft I've tried so far display in the preview window.

I hunted round & found the original FS2004 version of the F-15. This includes a panel & DVC that appear to work fine in FSX. The model also displays in the preview window.
