Is there any way of making them come out to meet the plane when you are parked next to one? I noticed them when I was at Gatwick and wondered if they came out like they should...

advanced animations should be checked and you need a video card that will let it happen

ctrl+j, actually.... shift+f calls for the fuel truck (worry not, it takes a while to get to your plane)
