outside view querie

Hi Folks.
If anyone knows answer to this ,thanks in advance.
I am thoroughly enjoying FSX but as I have always done a lot of helicopter flying theres something in FSX thats really bugging me and kind of hard to explain... but here goes...
I usually like to use an outside view of aircraft particularly at ground level for hover taxying/ t/off & landings etc.In FS2004 I would use the (fixed ) camera option in the view options. This was great as I could rotate the hat switch on joystick to change the view of helicopter without losing spacial awareness.
Now I love so much about FSX and some of the querkie view options are cool but there isnt one that keeps the camera in a stationary position-in spot view the camera still follows the aircraft when it tuns and as far as I can see the Locked spot view still follows when you turmn but just snaps back more quickly.....
I told you this was a bit hard to explain but if anyone knows what I mean or even better knows a way to change CFG file to help I would be really grateful.
I dont want to whinge as I am finding FSX breathtaking, especially the light/reflection effects but this little problem is driving me mad and just taking the edge off my full enjoyment.
many thanks dal5551
