I put up a posting on importing AI aircraft - see below
http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/ ... 1161504955And here's what I posted previously and what I think is the best way to import and try out aircraft without messing up your FSX
1. Make a folder called fs9aircraft in your main FSX folder
2. Open up your FSX.cfg using Notepad and scroll down a few lines and you'll see several entries that look like
SimObjectPaths.X={folder name} where X = a number from 1 to 5
3. Add a line in
SimObjectPaths.6=fs9aircraft
4. Just copy over planes from FS9 into that folder and run FSX
5. If all is well and they work, copy over their gauges into their own panel folder (NOT FSX gauges at this stage)
6. Run again and if the panel works either leave the gauges in the aircraft's panel folder or move them into the main FSX gauges folder
Doing it this way you'll keep your FSX install nice and clean and you can easily identify and chuck out any bad ones
BTW
FSX is backwardly compatible ONLY for GMax and FSDS2 aircraft. Even then you may have a few texture problems eg Rick Piper's HS748 - some textures in the VC appear to come out very black
