I thought I'd try this transparent 2D panel thing. Just curiosity. Didn't like it, so hit F10 to return to normal 2D. But found I was stuck with the transparent version.

Unless there's a key combination I don't know, I seem to have lost the 2D. I went into Assignments and tried reducing the transparency, but that simply wiped the 2D/transparency combination  completely.

I've run the  maintenance program from Disc 1, but that didn't fix it. I guess 'll have to reinstall, unless Simviation's gurus can tell me how to track a wandering  2D panel...

Sorry to see you're not getting any replies, Phiz. But it's hardly surprising really. Everyone is scared sh*tless to touch that slider after what you said!  ???

2-D Panel Transparency CTRL+SHIFT+T (+ or -) Toggle
The + plus sign brings it back solid
Read the FSX Manual (or Keyboard Commands: Views) re: Views . . . there's lotsa new views; i.e.,  the F1View mouse-pan-thingy:

Look Using Mouse (on/off)  SHIFT+O
Look Using Mouse (on) Hold SPACEBAR
