Hows this for a spec?

Hi Guys:

I'm about to purchase a new machine for work, thats going to be running some serious graphics apps. I was wondering what the spec would be like for running FSX maxed out.

If someone could read through the following and let me know if theres anything missing, or an upgrade that they would recommend that would help FSX kick some butt on the machine then, please let me know, the companies paying and its flightcased to go where i go!

Cheers...

Dual Opteron Model 285 Dual Processor
12GB DDR400 ECC (6 DIMMS)
Dual NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500
150GB 10,000rpm SATA 16MB Cache
74GB Serial ATA RAID 1 Array (2x 74GB 10,000rpm)
Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Music
Windows XP Pro X64

I should point out that thats the software manufacturers ideal spec for the work i do and that i have absolutely no idea what any of that actually means other than that its quite good.

Thoughts please

Thanks

Paul

PS: I have the rudder pedals and joystick already with FS9....

Quite good for sure, damn it  :P
I don't know those quadro cards wery well. I just know that they are optimized for picture works, but I don't know how they are supposed to perform with games 3D graphics...
For the rest, memory sounds nice, just like your proc  ;D

Wow nice work rig you got there!

It should run fsX well, but not maxed out. fsX uses one core for 80% of the work, while another core for 20% of the work. That means you're mostly using one of your four CPU cores for the work.

The video cards are exellent, however not really designed for gaming. It still should run really nicely though.

Yeah - I once knew someone who had spec like that. Every time he switched it on the lights in every village for a 30 mile radius went out.

Before the usual crew try to jump on me and bite my bum....just kidding  ::)
