So, I was wondering, can you switch aircraft during a mission?

In example,

If you had to get from one place to another, could you go, say, from a lear, then, switch to a F16 add-on? would that effect the mission out-come?

here is an ideah ... figure it out your self by trying it  :o

There's an option to let yourself switch the settings like that in the middle of a mission, but I don't know if it affects the outcome of the mission.
